New Attorneys at Phelps Dunbar LLP

We are pleased to welcome twenty-four new attorneys that have recently started with our firm.

Cameron C. Bell is an associate in the admiralty and tort practice group in the Gulfport office. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2003, where he was on the Executive Board of the Mississippi Law Journal. Prior to joining Phelps Dunbar, he served as judicial clerk in the Southern District of Mississippi for Chief United States Magistrate Judge John M. Roper. Mr. Bell is a member of The Mississippi Bar.

Kelly Riley Blackwood is an associate in the general litigation practice group in the Jackson office and practices in the area of environmental law. She received her J.D. from the Mississippi College School of Law in 1999, where she served as Vice President of the Environmental Law Association. Ms. Blackwood is a member of The Mississippi Bar.

Byron N. Brown IV is an associate in the commercial litigation practice group in the Tupelo office. He received his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2004, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and served on the Student Body Honor Council. Mr. Brown is a member of The Mississippi Bar.

Betty C. Burke is an associate in the employment law practice group in the Baton Rouge office. She received her J.D. and B.C.L. from Louisiana State University in 2004, where she was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and Order of the Coif. Ms. Burke is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Joseph J. Cerise is an associate in the business practice group in the New Orleans office. He received his J.D. from Pace University School of Law, cum laude, in 1998. Mr. Cerise is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.

Philip deVilliers Claverie, Jr. is an associate in the business practice group in the New Orleans office. He received his J.D. from Loyola University in 2004. Mr. Claverie, Jr. is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

J. Michelle Clingan-Waits is an associate in the commercial litigation practice group in the Tupelo office. She received her J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2004, where she was a member of Mississippi Law Journal and the Moot Court Board. Ms. Clingan-Waits is a member of The Mississippi Bar.

Anne-Gwin Duval is counsel in the admiralty practice group in the New Orleans office. She received her J.D. from Louisiana State University in 1991. Ms. Duval is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

John H. Geary, Jr. is an associate in the general litigation practice group in the Jackson office. He received his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2004. Mr. Geary is a member of The Mississippi Bar.

Pablo Gonzalez is an associate in the insurance and reinsurance practice group in the New Orleans office. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University in 2004, where he was a Crowe Scholar and a Case Note and Quantum Editor of the Loyola Maritime Journal. Mr. Gonzalez is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association.

Kristina B. Gustavson is an associate in the insurance and reinsurance practice group in the New Orleans Office. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University in 2004, where she was a member of the Tulane International Law Society and the Tulane Business Law Society, as well as a European Legal Certificate recipient. Ms. Gustavson is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Clarence T. Guthrie III is an associate in the general litigation practice group in the Jackson office. He received his J.D. from University of Mississippi School of Law in 1999, where he was the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of National Security Law. In addition, Mr. Guthrie received his Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Guthrie is a member of The Mississippi Bar and is admitted to practice in Alabama.

Jeremy Herschaft is an associate in the admiralty practice group. He received his LL.M. from Tulane University and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Herschaft is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in South Carolina.

Deanne M. Mosley is a staff attorney in the general litigation practice group in the Jackson office and practices in the areas of governmental relations and dispute resolution. She received her J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1994. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Mosley was director of the Consumer Protection Division and special assistant attorney general in the Mississippi Attorney General’s office. In 2004, Deanne was featured in the Mississippi Business Journal’s 50 Leading Business Women of Mississippi. Ms. Mosley is a member of The Mississippi Bar.

Julie K. Narhi is an associate in the insurance and reinsurance practice group in the Tampa office. She received her J.D., as well as her Ed.M. from the University at Buffalo in 2000. Ms. Narhi is a member of The Florida Bar Association.

Jesse Campbell Neil is an associate in the admiralty and tort practice group in the Gulfport office. He received his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2004, where he was a member of the Mississippi Law Journal. Mr. Neil is a member of The Mississippi Bar.

Garrett Lewes Pendleton is an associate in the insurance and reinsurance practice group in the Tampa office. He received both his J.D. and M.B.A. from Stetson University College in 2004. Mr. Pendleton is a member of The Florida Bar Association.

Meredith A. Phipps is an associate in the commercial litigation practice group in the Tampa office. She received her J.D. from the Stetson University College of Law in 2004, where she served as the Editor in Chief of the Stetson Law Review. Ms. Phipps is a member of The Florida Bar Association.

Erik Piazza is an associate in the business practice group in the Baton Rouge office. He received his J.D. from Louisiana State University in 2004. Mr. Piazza is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Richard R. Stedman, II is an associate in the commercial litigation practice group in the New Orleans office. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola Law School in 2004, where he was a Crowe Scholar and a member of the Loyola Law Review. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association.

Gregory Thomas Stevens is an associate in the litigation practice group in the Baton Rouge office. He received his J.D. from Louisiana State University in 2004 and his M.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia in 2001. Mr. Stevens is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Sarah Neill Tinkler is an associate in the insurance and reinsurance practice group in the New Orleans office. She received her J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2004, where she was a member of the National Moot Court Board Competition Team. Ms. Tinkler is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Robert R. Wood, Jr. is an associate in the commercial litigation practice group in the New Orleans office. He received his J.D. and B.C.L. law degrees from Louisiana State University Law Center in 2004, where he was the recipient of both the J. Michael Morrow Memorial and LSU Board of Supervisors Scholarships. Mr. Wood is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Holly Jean Wylam is an associate in the employment law practice group in the New Orleans office. She received her J.D. from Tulane University in 2004, where she was a recipient of the Tulane Law’s Sewanee Scholarship, a member of the National Moot Court competition team, and Chair of Moot Court Interschool competition. Ms. Wylam is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
