COVID 19: A Message From Our Managing Partner

March 16, 2020

We write to assure our clients and friends that even as the COVID-19 pandemic escalates, Phelps remains prepared and committed to the continued satisfaction of our clients’ needs, while also playing a supportive role in minimizing the spread of COVID-19.

Our offices currently remain open, and we have taken the following actions for the health and wellbeing of our people and our communities in an effort to provide our clients uninterrupted service:

  • Health and Wellbeing: We are taking precautions to mitigate the spread of the virus across our workforce. We have enhanced our hygiene and cleaning processes, and instituted reporting requirements, travel restrictions and self-quarantine measures.
  • COVID-19 Task Force: We have created our own multi-disciplinary task force dedicated to managing our human resources and our business continuity efforts. Daily, this team is driving organizational preparedness and contingency strategy efforts, in addition to considering impacts on our workforce.
  • Remote Work Preparedness: We have remote work capability for both our attorneys and many of our professional staff and are transitioning to a predominantly remote environment without disruption to our usual operations, even if we choose to close one or more of our offices.
  • Systems: Our systems will help us keep the lines of communication open with our clients, vendors and essential staff. We have taken preventative steps to address and stress test our technology systems’ capabilities.
  • COVID-19 Client Resource Portal: We are writing on health and legal issues arising from the pandemic and otherwise collating information of interest. These may be found below and on other social media.

Though what the coming weeks will bring is unknowable, a measure of our excellence will be shown in how we adapt to these complex and changing circumstances, for our families, our communities and our clients. We will drive through these difficulties, together.

Wishing you good health,

Marshall Redmon, Managing Partner | Phelps Dunbar LLP
