David Garcia Named to 2026 Leadership Westlake Class

AUSTIN — September 15, 2025 — Phelps partner David Garcia has been selected to the Class of 2026 of Leadership Westlake, a program of the Westlake Chamber of Commerce.

Leadership Westlake is a nine-month leadership development and community immersion program designed to give participants a better understanding of the inner workings of the community.

The cohort meets monthly and covers topics including education, philanthropy, local business economy, public safety, government, health and wellness, tourism and economic development.  Participants meet with elected officials, city executives, business leaders, nonprofit heads, trendsetters and influencers.

“I look forward to meeting my class and working with them to make a positive impact on the greater Westlake community,” said David. “I am grateful for the opportunity to grow my network and enhance my leadership skills.”

In his practice, David works with founders, business owners, practice managers, consolidators and investors to structure strategic transactions and close deals which create and capture value across many industries. He has a specific focus on transactions involving health care providers and veterinary companies. David is a long-term pillar of the Austin business community, and he leads Phelps' Austin office as its managing partner.

The Leadership Westlake program begins in September with a retreat followed by monthly trainings and will conclude in May.
