Dennis McClelland Recognized for Service as AFMA President

TAMPA – Oct. 27, 2023 –  Phelps Partner Dennis McClelland was honored by the Academy of Florida Management Attorneys (AFMA) for his service as president during the 2022-2023 term.

The Academy of Florida Management Attorneys (AFMA) is a nonprofit professional organization. It serves as a forum for the free exchange of ideas, knowledge, and continuing education among senior members of the management-side labor and employment bar in Florida. AMFA’s members include highly experienced management labor and employment lawyers from law firms throughout Florida who advise and advocate for Florida employers.

Dennis is a board-certified labor and employment lawyer who has practiced exclusively in the area for over 27 years. He is the managing partner of the firm’s Tampa office. Dennis provides employers strategic compliance advice and represents them in court litigation, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings regarding claims involving wage and hour, employment discrimination, family and medical leave, union-management relations, employee benefits, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and various employment-related torts.

“AMFA is made up of Florida’s best management-side labor and employment lawyers, and it has been an honor to serve as president of this prestigious organization,” Dennis said.

Dennis was recognized at an awards ceremony held at the organization’s annual meeting at the Breakers in Palm Beach on Oct. 21.
