Phelps Advises ADVANO in Acquisition Bringing Sicona's U.S. Headquarters to New Orleans

Phelps represented ADVANO, a New Orleans-based battery materials company, in its acquisition by Australian company Sicona Battery Technologies. The acquisition enabled Sicona to establish its first U.S. headquarters and manufacturing facility in New Orleans East, building on battery technology developed by ADVANO in Louisiana and supporting new investment and advanced manufacturing jobs in the region.

Greater New Orleans Inc. reported on Sept. 15 that Sicona plans to invest more than $10 million in the facility and create 84 potential new jobs over the next five years.

 Business lawyers Will Bishop and Bo Marcus and tax lawyer Ryan Moon led the Phelps deal team that executed the transaction.
