Phelps Earns No. 18 Spot on Construction Executive’s 2026 Top 50 List

    August 05, 2026

NEW ORLEANS — Aug. 5, 2026 — Phelps ranked No. 18 in Construction Executive’s 2026 list of The Top 50 Construction Law Firms™, moving up from No. 20 last year. The annual ranking recognizes U.S. law firms with strong construction practices.

“We understand the business pressures that shape construction projects and decisions,” said construction partner Kelsey Kornick Funes. “Our lawyers stay close to our clients’ businesses and the markets they serve, which allows us to deliver practical guidance on complex projects and disputes. This ranking reflects the momentum we continue to build across the region.”

Construction Executive bases the ranking on survey responses from hundreds of U.S. law firms with construction practices. The publication says the 2026 ranking considered 2025 construction-practice revenue, the number of construction attorneys, the percentage of firm revenue derived from construction work, the number of states in which the firm is licensed to practice, the year the construction practice was established and the number of construction industry clients served during the 2025 fiscal year.

Phelps’ construction team represents owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, developers, sureties, insurers, consulting firms and management firms. The team advises clients through every phase of private and public construction projects, including planning, design, construction, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution.

The team’s work spans the industries that drive growth across the Gulf South and Southeast. Phelps lawyers help clients move commercial, infrastructure and industrial projects forward, including work involving multi-family projects, office buildings, hospitals, power plants, data centers, pipelines, bridges, highways and industrial facilities. They also advise on contract issues, bond claims, cost overruns, delays, liens, takeover and completion assignments, and they represent clients in arbitration, mediation and litigation when disputes arise.

Construction Executive is a leading trade magazine covering the business of construction.
