Phelps Expands Tennessee Foothold With Addition of Nashville Real Estate Partner Alex Porter

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — March 23, 2026 — Phelps welcomes real estate partner Alex Porter to its Nashville office, strengthening the firm’s ability to close complex deals and drive real estate development in Tennessee’s fastest‑growing market.

A Nashville native and two-time University of Tennessee graduate, Alex brings deep local knowledge and a rare pairing of high-volume multifamily and health care real estate experience across the Southeast.

“Alex is a natural fit for our growth strategy in Nashville and in the state of Tennessee,” said Ragan Richard, who leads Phelps’ business group. “He knows this market, understands the pace of clients’ needs, and brings the kind of complex deal experience and attention to detail that keeps projects moving. Alex has guided more than 40 transactions a year for more than five years and directs the full lifecycle of acquisitions, dispositions, financing and leasing for publicly traded and privately held companies. He manages multifamily portfolios, medical office and outpatient facilities, health system campuses, and office and industrial assets. He also secures agency financing and issues title insurance policies through national underwriters, an advantage in Tennessee’s title agency landscape.
