Phelps New Orleans Office Honored on CityBusiness “Best Places to Work” List

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Dec. 16, 2022 - New Orleans CityBusiness named Phelps one of the 2022 Best Places to Work. The list celebrates companies chosen by employees for their benefits, opportunities for advancement and workplace culture. This is the 14th year Phelps has been recognized.

Phelps earned a spot among the list’s top 13 companies with more than 250 employees, in part because of the firm’s focus on diversity and building a positive work environment. Receptionist Janet Cheralla described how the firm values its employees, “I’m proud to work for a company whose leadership is top-notch. Phelps takes care of their employees, clients and the community as well. Our firm goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels part of something bigger, and that we make a real difference.”

Nadine Barrois, a 21-year veteran of the firm, echoed this feeling and shared how Phelps has aided its employees after several hurricanes and storms over the years. The firm’s family-oriented culture is something Grace Bourgeois, librarian assistant for the information services team attests to. “I’ve been here 32 years, and this is the reason I stay. The firm always cares about you,” she said.

"Best Places to Work” recognizes companies that keep employee satisfaction and engagement a priority year after year. Businesses submit extensive information on their workforce data to be considered. Then, employees complete surveys to measure workplace culture, which helps to determine the top companies and final rankings.
