David Patrón Tapped to Lead IADC Cyber Security Data Privacy and Technology Committee
NEW ORLEANS, La. — August 31, 2022 — The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) has appointed Phelps Partner David Patrón to a two-year term as Chairman of the Cyber Security, Data Privacy and Technology Committee.
IADC is an invitation-only, peer reviewed member organization that connects leading corporate and defense attorneys and insurance executives across the globe.
The Cyber Security, Data Privacy and Technology committee addresses the differing substantive laws globally affected by burgeoning technologies, increasing cybersecurity and data privacy guidelines and issues.
As head of Phelps’ litigation practice, David represents some of the biggest names in technology, oil and gas, entertainment and other industries. Over 25+ years of practice, he has earned a reputation for excellence and integrity at all levels of state and federal courts. Whether defending a breach of contract or prosecuting a breach of fiduciary duty, David focuses on finding real-world business solutions for clients.
David is a Past Chairman for the Louisiana Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section, as well as Past Chairman for LBA’s Mediation Registry Committee. He currently serves on the boards of the Princeton Alumni Association and the Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans.
David was named “Lawyer of the Year” in Litigation-Intellectual Property in 2017 and has been named among The Best Lawyers in America. He has also been recognized on the Louisiana Super Lawyers List for the past 10 years.
