Partner Dennis McClelland Serves as an Editor-in-Chief for 2017 Supplement to Leading Treatise on the Fair Labor Standards Act

TAMPA Fla. – Dennis McClelland, a labor and employment partner in Phelps Dunbar’s Tampa office, is an editor-in-chief of the recently published 2017 Cumulative Supplement for Third Edition of The Fair Labor Standards Act, a nationally recognized legal treatise published by the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law and Bloomberg BNA. He is an editor-in-chief of the Third Edition of the treatise and has served on the treatise’s Board of Editors for the past 15 years.

Reed Russell, also a labor and employment partner in the Tampa office, serves on the treatise’s Board of Editors. He has served on the Board of Editors for the treatise and its annual supplements for the past 15 years and co-authored chapters on collective actions, overtime and retaliation. Tampa labor and employment counsel Erin Malone served as an Associate Chapter Editor for the 2017 Supplement.

The Fair Labor Standards Act, Third Edition, with 2017 Cumulative Supplement provides comprehensive treatment of the Fair Labor Standards Act, including topics such as coverage, minimum wage and overtime requirements and exemptions, compensable time, collective and hybrid class action litigation, child labor and Department of Labor investigations and enforcement actions. About Reed Russell

Mr. Russell regularly represents employers in FLSA and state law wage and hour cases as well as claims raising equal employment opportunity issues and provides strategic advice on employment practices, including through statistical analysis. He is the former legal counsel of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where he was responsible for developing agency policy on the federal anti-discrimination statutes, and serving as the EEOC chair’s chief legal advisor. He also is the coauthor of a comprehensive guide to the EEOC’s investigation and litigation practices and procedures titled EEOC Litigation and Charge Resolution, Second Edition, published by Bloomberg BNA in January 2015.
