NEW ORLEANS — Isabel Bonilla-Mathé and Ashley Heilprin, associates in Phelps’ New Orleans office, were named Fellows of the American Bar Foundation.

The Fellows comprise a global honorary society of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars who show outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and to the welfare of their communities. Membership is limited to 1% of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by their peers and elected by the foundation’s board.

Isabel represents a wide range of health care provider clients in administrative and judicial proceedings, arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolutions, negotiations and transactions, government affairs, and matters of regulatory compliance.

In addition to her role at Phelps, Isabel teaches the “Fundamentals of Health Care Law” course at Tulane University Law School and is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association.

Isabel graduated from Tulane University Law School. She earned her master's in health administration from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and her bachelor’s from the University of Miami.

Ashley practices in civil trial and commercial litigation. She regularly appears in Louisiana state and federal courts and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in disputes involving public and private construction projects.

In the community, Ashley serves on the board of directors for Collegiate Academies, the Young Leadership Council and the ACLU of Louisiana.

Ashley graduated from William & Mary Law School. She earned her master's in public policy from the College of William & Mary and her bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
