Abigail White defends employers when litigation arises and advises them on a wide variety of matters such as drafting employment policies and procedures, improving employment relations and resolving EEOC disputes.
She also defends hospitals, clinics, physicians, and other health care professionals in medical malpractice claims.
Before joining Phelps, Abigail served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gregory C. Cook of the Supreme Court of Alabama. While in law school, she served as the Managing Editor of the Cumberland Law Review and Director of Mediation on the Trial Advocacy Board.
Experience
- Assisted in obtaining summary judgment in favor of a restaurant on a hostile work environment claim asserted by a former store manager. Sat second chair during the arbitration where the arbitrator issued an award in favor of the restaurant on the remaining race-based constructive discharge and retaliation claims.
- Obtained dismissal of fraud and unjust enrichment claims against home health care company asserted by the estate of a former customer in Alabama state court.
