Carlos practices in all areas of marine and energy law, including personal injury litigation, charter party disputes, contractual indemnity and insurance disputes, and regulatory matters. Before joining Phelps, he served as associate in-house counsel for a maritime transportation company and provided legal support to the company’s domestic and international branches.
As a native of Guatemala, Carlos is fluent in both English and Spanish, and his ability to communicate in Spanish has allowed him to represent clients engaged in offshore oil and gas exploration in Mexico, Colombia, and other parts of Central and South America.
