    When issues become contentious, Jeremy Grabill is ready to fight for his clients. Jeremy’s practice specializes in complex, high-profile cases and appeals in a variety of industries. With extensive experience in the areas of multi-district litigation, commercial litigation, admiralty and maritime litigation, and tort litigation – just to name a few – Jeremy draws upon his wide body of knowledge to achieve optimal results for a diverse spectrum of clients.

    In these complex cases, Jeremy complements his arguments with logical structure and prudent strategy to gain advantages over the opposition. He regularly appears in state and federal courts, and he has litigated and handled appeals involving:

      • Contract and other commercial disputes
      • Business torts
      • Products liability and toxic tort cases
      • Insurance matters
      • Vessel seizures/arrests and other maritime casualty matters

    Jeremy is also a regular contributor to legal publications and has written numerous articles for national law reviews, and his scholarship has been cited by multiple courts.

    Experience

    • Secured complete victory for vessel interests on appeal in a prominent federal maritime lien case involving the provision of bunker fuel.
    • Obtained summary judgment victory for one of the world’s largest casual dining companies dismissing multi-million dollar breach-of-contract claim and successfully defended that victory on appeal.
    • Assisted in drafting successful oppositions to several petitions to the United States Supreme Court seeking writs of certiorari, thereby preserving appellate victories for clients.
    • Obtained multi-million dollar jury verdict in federal court for local Louisiana business in breach-of-contract case and negotiated favorable settlement while case was on appeal.
    • Successfully appealed adverse trial court ruling regarding contractual indemnity and negotiated favorable settlement for client following the appellate win.
    • Obtained multi-million dollar federal court judgment for client after breach of agreement in connection with the sale of a company.
    • Achieved dismissal of various claims against “emergency responder” and “clean-up responder” defendants in the multidistrict litigation concerning the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and successfully defended those dismissals on appeal.
    • Defended project management and construction firm against respiratory injury claims in the mass tort litigation that arose from the clean-up operations at the World Trade Center site in New York following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
    • Successfully defended client in complex maritime litigation arising out of an explosion and fire at an oil refinery in Puerto Rico.
    • Obtained appellate victory in federal court for pro bono client in a case of first impression under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
    • Obtained multi-million dollar federal court judgment for client after breach of agreement in connection with the sale of a company.
