    Mary Drabnis prepares and prosecutes patent applications, handles patent appeals and oppositions, and has managed patent interferences before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), with a focus on the chemical and mechanical arts. She also conducts patent validity and non-infringement analyses and prepares legal opinions to relay her findings to clients.

    Mary’s background in chemistry enables her to understand the technology surrounding new inventions and communicate efficiently with clients in highly technical industries. Her patent experience includes agricultural chemicals, biocides, catalysts and catalyst activators, coatings, curatives for polyurethanes, flame retardants, mercury sorbents, oilfield chemicals, and small molecule pharmaceuticals.

    Before Mary began her legal career, she served as a technical advisor and a patent agent. In addition, Mary has experience in trademark clearance analysis, registration and prosecution before the USPTO.
