    Real EstateBusiness

Michael Odom represents clients in a broad variety of real estate and finance transactions. He brings his experience in litigation and an eye on the long term to his work with clients, offering insight into what could go wrong down the line and structuring deals to minimize the chance of future issues. But if disputes do arise, Michael is a seasoned litigator well-prepared to help clients find practical solutions.

Michael represents banks and other lenders as well as title insurance companies in a full range of transactions and disputes. He guides real estate developers and builders through all aspects of a deal, including land use planning, contract review and litigation. He defends title insurance companies for alleged policy breaches, bad faith and other claims and helps land owners, commercial contractors and homebuilders ensure smooth transactions and resolve disputes. He also works with landowners whose property is being condemned through eminent domain.

Michael represents lenders in commercial loan closings, commercial foreclosure matters, problem loan remediation, negotiation of forbearance and loan modification agreements, and deficiency and recovery litigation.

Michael also serves as an arbitrator and mediator. He is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitrator, is registered on the Alabama State Court Mediation Roster and the Alabama Arbitrator Roster, and is a certified arbitrator for the Birmingham Better Business Bureau.
