Rachel de Cordova is a litigator and negotiator in commercial matters including personal injury, maritime, employment and insurance coverage with a special emphasis in handling complex, high stakes claims, lawsuits and arbitrations. In addition, Rachel advises clients on contract drafting, negotiation and claims. She represents parties in the Federal and States Courts of Texas as well as in regulatory and administrative proceedings before Texas and Federal agencies. She is licensed to practice before all Texas Federal District Courts, the United States Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Rachel’s personal injury practice includes both direct representation of corporations in offshore and onshore claims and litigation. She routinely works for Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London as monitoring counsel for the London excess insurance market in catastrophic personal injury cases including insurance coverage and defense as well as indemnity advise and litigation.
Rachel’s labor and employment practice includes representing employers in employment related claims, such as trade secret misappropriation cases, non-competition agreements and breach of confidentiality provisions.
Rachel previously served as national maritime counsel for one of the country’s largest oil refiners and marketers where she handled all maritime related litigation, as well as regulatory matters before government bodies overseeing pilot and port tariffs and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
