Guy McConnell practices in the area of commercial litigation. During his more than 30-year career, he has litigated a variety of complex commercial cases and other disputes, including contract disputes, shareholder disputes and derivative actions, breach of fiduciary duty claims, trade secret disputes, business torts, antitrust and trade regulation disputes, TCPA claims, data breach claims, franchise disputes, covenant not to compete claims, class action matters, qui tam litigation, real estate and land use disputes, Section 1983 constitutional law claims, select collection matters, consumer protection claims, breach of warranty actions, product liability claims, intellectual property disputes, personal injury claims and unfair trade practice actions.
Mr. McConnell more often has represented defendants during his career. However, he also has prosecuted claims on behalf of plaintiffs in select cases. His clients have ranged from individuals with substantial claims to large publicly traded companies. Mr. McConnell also has represented franchisors, municipal and county governments, and privately held businesses of all sizes over the years.
Prior to joining Phelps Dunbar, Mr. McConnell practiced at Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, P.A. in Tampa after beginning his law career in Michigan.
