John Rouse Appointed to ABA Aviation Law and Ethics Leadership Roles

JACKSON, Miss. — Aug. 4, 2026 — Jackson partner John Rouse started his tenure as vice chair of the Aviation and Space Law General Committee and as a member of the Ethics & Professionalism Standing Committee with the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section.

Through these appointments, John will contribute to national discussions on aviation law, ethics and professionalism while working with lawyers across the country on issues affecting the legal profession and clients operating in highly regulated industries.

By helping to lead the Aviation and Space Law General Committee, John will address issues that shape litigation, risk management and regulatory challenges facing aviation clients. The appointment reflects his extensive work guiding aviation carriers, manufacturers and insurers through complex litigation across the Southeast.

John's appointment to the Ethics & Professionalism Standing Committee builds on a longstanding commitment to advancing professionalism in the legal community. He recently completed a two-year term as chair of The Mississippi Bar's Professionalism Committee, where he helped develop resources to strengthen local bar associations across the state. John also serves as chair of the Character and Fitness Committee for the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions and has supported lawyer professionalism initiatives in Mississippi for more than a decade through mentorship and legal education programs.

In July, The Mississippi Bar recognized John with its 2026 Distinguished Service Award for more than two decades of contributions to the legal profession. John remains active in legal and community organizations throughout Mississippi and the Southeast, including the ABA, local bar associations and DRI's Aviation Law Committee, where he serves as marketing chair.
