Nine Practices Secure National Ranking, All Phelps U.S. Offices Make 2024 “Best Law Firms” List

NEW ORLEANS —  Nov. 2, 2023 — The Best Lawyers in America recognizes those deemed “Best Law Firms” each year through peer review and an extensive survey process. Since last year’s report, Phelps’ railroad law moved to the top tier of the list of nationally recognized practices, and financial services regulation law joined the rankings. Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” ranked nine Phelps practice areas nationally:

Tier 1

Tier 3

• • Financial Services Regulation Law

In addition to its national standings, all 12 of Phelps’ U.S. offices made the metropolitan rankings, with 101 practices earning spots in the top tier and 71 featured in the regional rankings. In total, 184 practice areas were recognized, with seven newly honored areas and 44 achieving higher rankings than last year.  

To be ranked by “Best Law Firms,” a firm must have at least one attorney ranked by Best Lawyers, strong feedback from clients and rave reviews from lawyers at other firms. 208 Phelps lawyers from 12 offices were recognized on the 2024 Best Lawyers list.
