Southern University Law Center Honors Michael B. Victorian Among 2026 Distinguished Alumni
BATON ROUGE, La. — April 15, 2026 — Baton Rouge counsel Michael B. Victorian was recognized as one of Southern University Law Center’s 2026 Distinguished Alumni. He joins five law center graduates honored in 2026 for their leadership, service and commitment to justice through legal counsel and community involvement.
“This honor is a chance to reflect on my journey and the people who made it possible,” Michael said. “The ethos of ‘seriousness of purpose’ instilled in me at SULC continues to guide my work in the practice of law and in the community. I’m grateful for the recognition and proud to carry the SULC legacy forward.”
Presented during Southern University Law Center’s annual Alumni and Friends Round Up, the Distinguished Alumni Award celebrates graduates who carry the law center’s values into their work, their communities and their mentorship of up-and-coming lawyers.
Michael’s selection is a testament to both his professional accomplishments and his lasting connection to the law center. He’s an active member of the Southern University Law Center Alumni Association and served for years as an adjunct professor.
Since his time at SULC, Michael has built a strong track record of representing businesses, government entities and athletes in high-stakes litigation, while also helping clients navigate name, image and likeness issues and recruiting decisions as the business of college and high school athletics evolves. He brings courtroom experience and a steady presence to help clients resolve disputes involving business operations, professional liability and company leadership in state and federal court.
Michael also answers the call to leadership in his community. He serves on the Board of Directors for The Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit and has held leadership roles with 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, where he now serves as president after previously serving as president-elect and secretary. He also is a former president of the Greater Baton Rouge Chapter of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, Inc. and served on the Board of Directors for Southeast Louisiana Legal Services from 2021 to 2024.
Michael and his fellow honorees were celebrated at a reception at the Shaw Center for the Arts on April 9.
