Phelps Dunbar’s flagship office in New Orleans has supported worthy causes for decades. Our attorneys serve on various professional, civic and philanthropic boards of directors, and have focused the firm’s efforts to meaningfully participate in community activities.
The firm supports various bar association activities throughout each year, including the Louisiana Bar Foundation Gala, and has sponsored the Pro Bono Project’s Justice For All Ball at the benefactor level for years. We have been deeply engaged with the New Orleans Chapter of the American Diabetes Association not only as a financial supporter, but also with attorneys and staff participating in the annual Step Out | Walk to Stop Diabetes as a team. During the December holiday season, our attorneys and staff play Santa by purchasing gifts for needy children and families in our community. In the summer months, a number of attorneys provide free legal services to homeless individuals through U.S. District Judge Jay Zainey’s H.E.L.P. program. We also regularly support and attend fundraising events for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Children’s Hospital, Contemporary Arts Center, Bridge House/Grace House, St. Andrew’s Village, Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium, Lighthouse for the Blind, Harry Thompson Center, Boy Scouts of America, and more.
