    Austin Laurienzo practices primarily in the area of labor and employment with some crossover in commercial litigation. Before joining Phelps, Austin clerked for Judge Charles R. Wilson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, where he handled various federal appellate cases brought in Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

    He has handled a variety of labor and employment law cases, including disputes brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and corresponding state laws. He represents employers in defending against charges of discrimination and retaliation filed with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Commission on Human Relations and other state and local agencies.

    In addition to labor and employment, Austin practices in the area of commercial litigation. He represents entities in defending against various lawsuits, including premises liability, personal injury and wrongful death.

    Austin was awarded Top Honors Graduate for graduating at the top of his class at the University of Central Florida. He received book awards in Florida Civil Procedure and Class Actions at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and won best oralist at the National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition.
