C. Hunter Williams

Hunter Williams advises London Market insurers on coverage issues that arise from cybersecurity incidents and other complex exposures. He helps clients respond to fast‑moving cyber events to manage risk and resolve disputes.

Hunter works with Phelps’ cyber coverage and monitoring team to stay ahead of novel coverage questions and conflicts stemming from network incidents, including:

• • • Business interruption claims
    • Email compromise, phishing and wire‑transfer fraud
    • Ransomware and extortion coverage
    • Post-breach investigations and notification duties
    • Policy triggers for accidental disclosure or unauthorized access

On top of his cyber work, Hunter handles disputes for domestic insurers involving commercial general liability policies. He has also audited claims handling systems, which gives him insight into how coverage decisions are implemented.

While at University of Mississippi School of Law, Hunter served as Senior Editor of the Journal of Space Law and as a member of the Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition team.
