In addition, Charlie has experience defending clients in white collar matters and criminal investigations. He began his career as a felony prosecutor with the Office of the State Attorney.

- Obtained summary judgment on statute of repose grounds for a large Florida beverage distributor in a catastrophic personal injury claim. Affirmed by Florida’s First District Court of Appeal. Argued the case at the Florida Supreme Court, which decided in the distributor’s favor.
- Defeated landowner’s claim for attorneys’ fees in eminent domain case at the trial court and the First District Court of Appeal.
- Secured summary judgment in premises liability claim against beverage distributor. The First District Court of Appeal upheld the judgment. The case led to a clarification of premises liability law in Florida.
- Obtained a defense verdict at a jury trial for a utility company in a personal injury case alleging that the utility negligently energized a townhome.
- Won a directed verdict for a personal injury claim at a jury trial in favor of the employer on the grounds of workers’ compensation immunity because the plaintiff was working at the time of the accident.
- Obtained reversal of trial court order in dispute over choice of vendor for public pier.
- Won summary judgment for health insurance carrier in a dispute over coverage under a policy. The plaintiff alleged the health insurance carrier improperly denied her claims for coverage for certain medical procedures. The First District Court of Appeal affirmed the decision.
