    Construction projects require teamwork from a myriad of industry players. Clients occupying every position of a construction team — from owner to supplier — rely on Sarah Blount for her experience and knowledge of the intricacies of construction law. She provides added value to clients as an advisor through her big-picture perspective on business operations. 

    Sarah’s practice is a unique blend of transactional work and litigation. Her practice extends across construction and contract law, business counseling and asset recovery through commercial collections, foreclosures and liens.

    Sarah is adept at writing, negotiating and enforcing a broad array of construction and business contracts. She regularly resolves problems for clients involving claims for delays, changes to the work, additional costs, unforeseen conditions and overdue uncollected receivables.  

    The variety and interconnectivity of Sarah’s practice allows her to see both sides of the coin and anticipate creative and pragmatic solutions for the problems clients face.

    Experience


    •    Prosecuted breach of contract, personal guaranty and lien claims on behalf of a construction material supplier against its subcontractor customer, personal guaranties, project owner, general contractor and other project subcontractors/suppliers through litigation in state superior court and a bankruptcy proceeding. Negotiated a favorable settlement at mediation for the client after securing Claim of Lien superiority over the lender, a competitor materials supplier lien claimant and other junior lienholders. 
    •    Obtained a settlement of $700,000-plus (including full principal, attorneys fees, and nearly all interest claimed) for a national equipment rental supplier after prosecuting breach of contract and lien claims for amounts owed to the client on a large solar field project.
    •    Negotiates contracts for contractors and subcontractors involved in multi-million-dollar public sector and private construction projects. Drafts company contracts for contractors. 
    •    Acts as substitute trustee for local and regional banks in commercial and residential foreclosure proceedings.
