    Phelps Partner Rebecca Sha Wins Leadership in Law Award

    NEW ORLEANS — AUGUST 14, 2025 — Rebecca Sha, a partner in Phelps’ New Orleans office and a member of the firm's Labor and Employment group, was named to the 2025 Leadership in Law class by New Orleans City Business in recognition of her career and community accomplishments.

    Rebecca defends companies, governmental entities and nonprofits in employment law matters including workplace discrimination, retaliation, disability accommodations, and wage and hour disputes. She also represents schools and universities in education law, including Title IX, tenure and faculty disputes, governmental investigations, and breach of contract.

    Rebecca is in leadership roles at national legal organizations. She serves as President of the Louisiana Asian Pacific American Bar Association (LAPABA) and as Committee Chair of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). She is a former Committee Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation.

    In her community, Rebecca is a board member of the New Orleans Career Center, and a member of Chairman’s Counsel for the New Orleans Chambers of Commerce. She is also the Vice President of the Penn Club of Louisiana.   

    Prior to joining Phelps, Rebecca worked for a New Orleans law firm in commercial general litigation. During law school, she interned for the Honorable Chief Judge Brian A. Jackson of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.

    She joins more than 50 award recipients who will be honored on Monday, Oct. 6 at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
