Phelps Promotes Eight to Counsel Class
NEW ORLEANS — Dec. 29, 2021— Phelps is proud to announce the election of eight lawyers to Counsel effective immediately. Representing four different offices, the election of these lawyers positions the Firm to continue to deliver personal, high-level service to its clients.

Phelps’ newest counsel class includes:
- Jonathan Lewerenz (Tampa, Insurance) assists international and domestic insurers with incisive analysis of complex coverage, policy and claims issues
- Catriana Messina (Tampa, Insurance) helps insurers and their agents navigate complex first-party property insurance coverage matters.
- Alicia Murphy (Dallas/Fort Worth, Insurance) guides domestic and international insurers on complex property coverage issues, policy interpretation, exposure management, regulatory compliance and bad faith litigation.
- Andy Nash (Houston, Admiralty) counsels clients in the maritime and energy industries through every step of complex onshore and offshore personal injury cases, contract disputes, commercial disputes and marine casualties.
- Sara Nau (Houston, Insurance) counsels international and domestic carrier clients on complex insurance coverage and policy issues.
- Andrea Paris (Dallas/Fort Worth, Labor and Employment) guides private and public employers on the full range of employment matters, from proactive counseling, risk assessment and policy development to in-house training, internal investigations and litigation.
- Mallory Thomas (Tampa, Insurance) represents insurers in state and federal courts in Florida in third-party coverage matters. She also advises liability insurers regarding demands by claimants for policy limits.
- Kevin Welsh (Baton Rouge, Litigation) leverages his knowledge and litigation experience to help insurers and reinsurers investigate coverage claims, review complex policy issues.
