Insurance companies know the importance of controlling risk, and so does Christy Maple. She looks at each case with the long-term in mind, focusing on protecting clients’ interests, shielding them from costly lawsuits when possible, and helping them navigate complex litigation when necessary.

Christy advises premier, multinational insurance and claims management companies on issues arising under a variety of third-party liability policies, including:

    • Commercial general liability
    • Directors and officers liability
    • Errors and omissions liability
    • Professional liability

In her third-party liability coverage work, Christy has handled a range of issues including construction defect claims and other long-tail losses.

Christy also advises insurers on a variety of claims arising under first-party property policies, including hurricane-related claims and COVID-19 business interruption claims. She has extensive experience handling bad faith and extra-contractual claims. Her careful and prudent analysis allows her to find successful, cost-saving outcomes for clients.

A world traveler, Christy studied abroad in Germany and lived there for a year before starting her legal career. She taught English at German university Universität Erfurt as part of the Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program.
