When a company’s intellectual property is on the line, Lindsay Calhoun knows time is of the essence. Her experience with the nuances of IP, personal jurisdiction and constitutional law allows her to hit the ground running to protect clients’ rights when disputes arise.

Lindsay works with national and multi-national businesses across the Gulf South, the U.S. and Canada to protect their IP portfolios and resolve complex commercial issues that often need immediate action. She’s well-versed in handling emergency proceedings, temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. Whether helping clients enforce their intellectual property rights or defend against infringement claims, her quick response can start the litigation process off on the right foot.

Lindsay is heavily invested in both the big picture and the fine details of each case. This approach helps her discover paths others might not think to take, such as moving to dismiss if a client is being sued in the wrong jurisdiction. She regularly navigates large-scale federal lawsuits in both state and federal courts, including at the appellate level, on issues involving:

    • Trade secrets, trademarks, patents and copyrights
    • Complex commercial contract and business disputes
    • Constitutional law, including the First Amendment

She’s experienced in registering and renewing clients’ intellectual property with government regulators such as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Copyright Office.

Lindsay also serves on the firm's Innovation Committee.

Before Lindsay started her legal career, she worked for the University of Maryland to develop linguistic tests for the U.S. government.
